The Warriors O Doyle out-dueled former Black Sock Chris Recker for the win, Brent Heintzleman (sp.)had a 2-inning save, Rafalski and Joyner each pitched one inning in relief.
The Craig Boley went 2 for 3 with 2BB, and scored 3 times.
Don Stetzer had two hits, and dedicated them to Chris Wojton.
Heintzleman (sp.) hit a ball off the fence in the seventh against Rafalski that cleared the bases plating 3 runs.

Before all of the rainouts this years playoffs I looked for fields availible in my area. The only one I could find actual information on is from the Chartiers Valley School district. They actually posted thier policy on field rental.
The baseball field on Thoms Run off of route 50 between carnegie and bridgeville is only $40 a day for non residents, but I do not know if it has lights.
The site also says that we need to provide insurance.

There is also more city fields but have to be a resident of the city to get the permit. With the condition of spring hill I would say they need to be good to take that route.

the field at herschel has a full soccer field down left field, that is 60 yards wide, so 60*3 + 90 (at least should be around 110) = 270 to 290ft
It does appear to have a higher fence maybe 10 or 12 feet. and it gets deep in a hurry.
I am just trying to throw ideas out there, we definitely need more weeknight fields, especially around playoff time.

the ducks are looking into Hampton High School Field for next season. it's only 360 to center, but down the lines it is legit. it even has plugs for the bases. nice looking field in a complex with 3 cages.
Spring Hill will be missed.

Herchel is a great field by the way. It is like Moore Park #2. It is tough to get that field during the summer because Elliot Colt, Legion, and Federation all play there. Not to mention there are also a number of softball leagues that also play there.

I think that to complain about fields at this juncture is a bit hypocritical, especially when no one volunteered to take on the responsibility when asked in the winter meetings. If you were to ask Joe Graff, he would likely tell you that finding and securing fields is the worst part of the job, and anyone that wants to take over would be more than welcome. Im not being a dick…just sayin
I dislike many of the fields that we play on myself, and do not discredit the fact that having a home field and not playing on it for the playoffs probably sucks.

Umpires were the worst part, that seems to have been corrected.
Dealing with impatient managers like Kenny Powers is second.
Scheduling and Fields is third, but only because of #2 and a little bitch named mother nature. 😉
Teams will be required to get their own fields next year. me running around getting 8 permits for teams in the league is insane. Especially when i end up dealing with all the complaints!
On a more serious note, always looking to improve league. Suggestions welcome, and there is an open meeting before the all-star game on August 11th to discuss whatever. I am a volunteer, and more volunteers are welcome… you'll get a kick-back to your league fee!
